Strategic and Tactical Application
Strategy is the “actionable plan” to achieve specific goals. Tactics are the “detailed actions” needed to implement your strategy.
Successful strategy and tactics, are part of the LSG DNA. These two words alone are critical to sustainability. Quite frankly, these are two integrated areas where we excel and find very invigorating. We are reserved in our writing here, as everything which we do is customized for each engagement.
In general, knowing the easily discernable differences between strategic and tactical, as well as the application of the precise inter-relationship, is critical for every organization and initiative.
Strategies can be more easily modified, but tactics applied provide the risk of being irreversible. If a tactical mistake is made, you should already have a plan for, “if that, then this”. The LSG detailed planning phase will accommodate every known variable, as well provide preparation for the unexpected.
Strategy through tactics.
Something which we, as successful leaders, all know is the importance of patience and timing. Patience in its purest sense is not good for sustainable development. Rather, active patience is good. Inactive patience is dangerous. Patience without systematic and actionable directives is a complete disservice to those who depend on you. Patience is not inactive and simply waiting. Patience is an integral part of the strategic plan, which certainly contains action, or inaction, per circumstance; and tactically choosing and enabling a specific action, or inaction, at any given moment through proper planning for, and with, precision timing. Understanding this is key to your sustainable development and future. And, perhaps it may sound a bit contradictory, but, core to our “Lightning Fast, Lightning Precision” approach, is that LSG patience is always with operational and actionable, sense-of-urgency. (Whether you agree, or disagree, thanks for patiently cogitating and understanding this paragraph.)
With every action, there is a direct and indirect re-action, as well as, positive and negative externalities. Therein, immediate evaluation and understanding of all variables are a necessary key for success. More importantly, is the ability to predict each re-action to your initial action and to immediately apply the necessary counter-action to every circumstance, or to simply proceed according to original plan.
This is a way of life for LSG. No-nonsense and common-sensical, strategic and tactical application blends perfectly with our “Ex Ante” approach to sustainable development and customized optimization.
